Mt. Orab Fire Department offers Tours of the firehouse and educational training for children ages preschool and up. We can customize your group tour to meet specific needs of the group. We offer the following group trainings:
- Young Kids Station Tour - Primarily for preschool and elementary aged children – includes touring the station; looking at and getting inside view of the fire trucks and ambulances; viewing firefighters gear and preparing for an emergency call; Stop Drop and Roll technique; smoke alarm training; meeting Sparky the fire dog.
- Middle School Kids Station Tour – Primarily for kids ages 7-11 – Kids will get a tour of the firehouse; a glimpse what firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians work day looks like; strategies for home exit plans and safety walk checks; Bicycle safety; Pool Safety; Anti Bullying Techniques; and Internet Safety.
- Tweens & Teens Station Tour – Primarily for teens ages 12 and up – Introduction to First Aid and CPR; Information on our Cadet Program; Careers in Fire & EMS; Pool Safety; Driving Safety; Internet Safety; Situational Awareness; and avoiding being a victim of human trafficking.
- Adults Station Tour – We can offer a station tour including a tour of our apparatus and information on department funding. We offer fire extinguisher training; CPR, AED and first aid training; information on fire inspections; Outdoor hazard sirens; severe weather information and much more!
- Seniors – For our senior population and their caregivers we can bring our resources to you. If you are unable to check your smoke detectors or change the batteries we will do it for you! We can also help by performing a safety check of your home environment and make suggestions to help keep you accident free.
