Mt. Orab Fire Department offers a variety of CPR and First Aid training courses designed to meet the needs of individuals as well as businesses. Our instructors can train students of all ages to perform these lifesaving skills. We can provide training for youth groups; babysitters and childcare providers; foster parents; high school and college students; as well as health care providers. This training can be designed to meet the needs of business owners, managers and employees.
Our instructors are certified to teach through the American Heart Association and course participants will receive their certification card through the American Heart Association upon successful course completion.
Through the American Heart Association, we can offer instructor led classes or blended learning classes with skills sessions to ensure each participant is confident in performing these lifesaving techniques.
Important Note:
There are several certification options available, and employers often specify exactly what is required. For example, nurses and medical assistants typically need the BLS Provider course, which does not include First Aid. In contrast, a baseball coach may need CPR and First Aid, making the Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED course the appropriate choice.
Be sure you understand your employer’s requirements before registering. If you take the BLS Provider course and later find that you also need First Aid, you will be required to complete an additional course, which may result in an additional fee.

The courses offered by MOFD are as follows:
BLS Provider - Course Cost $75
The American Heart Association’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate breaths and ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. The course reflects science and education from the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED - Course Cost $75
For anyone with little or no medical training who needs Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) —compliant first aid and CPR Training—or simply wants to be ready for an emergency. Successful completion earns a two-year course completion card.
Heartsaver First Aid – Course Cost $75
Learn to recognize emergencies, call for help, and deliver lifesaving care for the most common first aid situations.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support – Course Cost $150
For healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiac arrest, stroke, or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, critical care/intensive care, and surgery such as Physicians, Nurses, and Paramedics, as well as others who need an ACLS course completion card for a job or other requirement.
